- Chair, teaching evaluation committee
A first-gen professor in Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences, I bring years of MSP leadership experience, including as Co-President and member of the collective bargaining team that negotiated the 2020-23 successor contract which included workload accommodations for transitioning classes to online during Covid, eliminating the waiting period for one semester of paid parental leave for librarians and NTT faculty, increasing funds for childcare assistance, implementing a new pay equity process, and many other work/life benefits for faculty and librarians. Currently, I chair the labor side of a labor/management committee developing holistic teaching evaluation guidelines and am MSP representative to numerous Higher Ed leadership councils and committees advocating for coalition campaigns, such as No on 90! and Fair Wages Now! As a lesbian feminist whose first union experience was as one of fewer than 1% of women electricians in IBEW Local 611, I’m deeply and personally familiar with the struggles of marginalized groups. An abiding desire for equity will inform my contributions to the bargaining team.
